MEMORIAL DAY PARADE SUNDAY, MAY 26th
The JI annual Memorial Day Parade will be held Sunday, May 26 (yes that is the day BEFORE Memorial Day). Line-up is at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. The parade will begin at 10:15 and will travel down Memorial Shoreway first. The parade is traditionally led by the Marblehead Police who have assured us they will NOT ticket unlicensed golf carts during the parade.
So, if you have not licensed your golf cart yet, you can still be in the parade. Inaddition, Police Chief Casey Joy said other vehicles such as Gators, ATVs, and gocarts will also be permitted in the parade. Decorate your vehicle of choice and join in the fun. There will be prizes for best decorated vehicles.
If you don’t want to participate in the parade, bring out your lawn chairs on the route and cheer on those who are participating. This is an annual Island tradition. All islanders are invited to whether as a participant or spectator!
